A Minecraft Movie (2025)

Where did Jennifer Coolidge went after her epic role in A Cinderella Story as Fiona? Oh here she is, in a Minecraft Movie. Epic, I love her. She honestly was the reason why I watched A Cinderella Story again and again on repeat. This is the era of Jennifer Coolidge with her truly amazing role in White Lotus as well. If 30s is the new 20s then 60s should be the new 40s. I can't wait.

I watched this movie because of Jack Black. Again, where did he go after School of Rock? In A Minecraft Movie, I felt that both of them have stand grounded in their personality that even though they're playing very different roles, it's so hard to miss them for who they are. Jennifer's cool mom edge and Jack's I am who I am, deal with it or leave.

General Chungus was the surprise character that I came to LOVE. He is the personification of my view of GenZ. Honestly, I don't get how he can be so free-spirited not giving any fucks, just like so many GenZs I meet today. Yet, I love that I'm part of their world. I hope I can experience some of that in this lifetime.

I believe A Minecraft Movie to be a success in my books because I laughed so much when I watched it, even for the second time and most importantly, it made me want to play the game itself. It was made respectfully to the game, honoring a hero player subtly even, and just visually very entertaining.

I'd recommend to anyone who wants to experience some of that Jennifer Coolidge and Jack Black magic while needing a no brainer time off session.

Honestly, that scene with the pandas, I can't get over how cute it is. ❤️
